1970s/1980s sterling silver, floral etched, octagonal, Victorian Revival locket on serpentine silver chain. Sweet, eight-sided locket engraved on both sides with a botanical design.

Sweet eight-sided locket engraved on both sides with a botanical design, inspired by the Victorian Aesthetic Movement. Victorian symbolism the octagon suggested the eighth day, time beyond worldly time.
Inside the locket, there is space to each side for a photo, or the locket could be used to store a lock of hair, a dried flower, or some other keepsake.
Locket marked “925” to interior and chain is also marked “925” to two places near the tiny, oval lobster claw clasp. Likely made in England or Ireland.
Excellent vintage condition with no noted flaws.
Measures approximately: pendant 2 x 1.5 x 0.3cm (+1cm length for bale); chain 46cm long; weighs 7.8g.
