Enormous circular cast sterling silver annular brooch in the Viking or Scandinavian style. Excellent for fastening a cloak, shawl or knit scarf, or worn as decoration on a heavy coat or sweater.
This particular quoit brooch would also be worn for period reenactments, especially for the 8th - 12th Centuries.
Hallmarks, purity marks, maker's/sponsor's marks: None, but this brooch acid tests as sterling silver.
In excellent vintage condition.
Approximate measurements: 3 1/4" diameter; 72.6g.
